Heavy jail sentence asked for owner of Kurdish women magazine

Twenty years in prison is the request made by the prosecutor

Twenty years in prison where asked for Gurbet Çakar, owner of Hêvîya Jinê (Women’ Hope), a Kurdish women magazine. Diyarbakır 6th Heavy Penal Court handed down the request accusing Cakar of “making propaganda for an organization, being member of organization and committing crime on behalf of the organization.”

Çakar who is in prison, demanded to be released but her request was rejected.
