International Support Kurds in Syria Association – SKS joins with Human Rights Organization in Syria – MAF and Kurdish Organization for Defending Human Rights and Public Freedoms in Syria – DAD and Kurdish Committee for Human Rights in Syria – al-Rased to strongly condemn the trial of these Kurdish leaders in this kangaroo court which does not have independence and neutrality, and does not meet international standards for fair trials and so is unconstitutional. We demand freedom and democracy; the abolition of the State of Emergency and martial law; reform of the judiciary; permanent ending of political detention and the release of all detainees; the right to express opinion; and the abolition of laws and courts that restrict these basic rights, especially the Supreme State Security Court in Damascus.
