A Kurdish women organization called Turkish government to release terminally-ill prisoners and warned that AKP would be responsible for possible deaths.

Democratic Free Women's Movement (DOKH) protested government's policies on ill prisoners in a gathering in front of Batman M-Type prison, today.

Kurdish MEP Ayla Akat Ata and various Kurdish representatives also attended the event.

DOKH activist Asiye Aydin read a statement saying most of the political prisoners who are ill, could not get adequate treatment. According to Aydin's remarks terminally ill prisoners are transferred to hospitals in armored vehicles not with ambulances. Their hands are cuffed and usually denied treatment.

"Prisoners such as Nurettin Soysal and Halil Gunes are waiting to in prison" Aydin said.

She added that despite the fact that Soysal and Guney are terminally ill, Turkish government denies to release them on compassionate grounds.

"AKP government and Ministry of Justice will be responsible for the possible death of terminally-ill prisoners" Aydin said.
