Mahabad bomb attack killed 11

A bomb attack against a military parade in Mahabad killed 11 and wounded at least 50. Kurdish PJAK condemned the attack and denied responsibility.

The bomb exploded as the Islamic Republic showcased its weaponry at an event marking the start 30 years ago of the Iran-Iraq war.

Two of the dead are wives of two commanders, Iranian press reported.

Deputy provincial governor Ali Nikbakht said 10 women and a boy were killed in the incident.

Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK), issued a statement after the attack and denied responsibility.

"We condemn every attack that targets civilians" the PJAK statement says.
