Ten people from ESP party arrested

Ten people were detained at house raids on (ESP) Oppressed’ Socialist Party members and administrators in some towns of İstanbul. The raid was carried out at 05.00 o’clock with helicopters.

Carrying out house raids by helicopters on ESP members and administrators in Gülsuyu, Gazi and Okmeydanı neighboorhoods at 5am in the morning, Istanbul Police Department Anti-Terror Branch policeofficers detained 10 people.

The name of the detainees are as follows; Dinçer Ergün, Tayfun Kebelek, Cebrail Günebakan, Fırat İşsever, Kadir Çiçek, Volkan Akkuş, Eren Ekiz, Çağrı Çakır, Serhat Karabulut, Hüseyin Öztürk.

Hüseyin Ayçiçek and Ali Haydar Keleş are also on the wanted list of police.

Making a written statement , Oppressed’ Socialist Party showed reaction to the detentions. ESP’s statement was as follows; “Our recent active efforts, which are based on our boycott tactic against referendum, are continuing under police pressure. The power is taking policing measures and trying to prevent the active participation of people, whom we are trying to organize around boycott. These pressures, however, will not browbeat us from our right and legal struggle. We will keep marching under fire.”
