Southern California (KurdishMedia.com) 04 October 2010: Irvine Globule Village Annual Festival was held on October 2nd, 2010.

Kurdish American Education Society (KAES), a regular participant in this annual festival, presented various items including books, instruments, cultural artefacts, and a map of Kurdistan.

Few people from the Middle East requested to remove the map and asked the authorities to help them. The authorities initially sided with the requesters. Before the media could be notified the authorities recognized the challenge and decided rather to protect freedom of speech. The map remained there for public to see where the Kurds live..
