Two Kurds arrested in Aleppo, Syria

August 2, 2010 by sks

According to the Central Media Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Convergence Party in Syria, on 27 July 2010 the Syrian state security forces in Aleppo arrested two of their members:
Ahmed Mohamed Ali Qalij, born1986, from Afrin village. He is a fourth-year student at the School of Journalism in University of Damascus.
Mustafa Mohammed Shekho, born 1970, from Afrin, a father of two daughters.
These two men have been summonsed a number of times, but there has been no news of their circumstances since their arrests. These arrests are indicative of the systematic campaign waged by the Syrian regime to discourage activity by the Democratic Convergence Party of Kurdistan – Syria.
