Four Kurdish guerrillas lost their lives on 17 August in an Iranian operation against the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK).
While the Turkish army continues its military operations against the Kurdish guerrillas in spite of the ceasefire declared by Kurdistan Democratic Confederation (KCK) on 13 August, Iranian army has also took the advantage of non-action position of PJAK and conducted a military operation in which village guards also took part.
Union of Democratic Liberation (DKB) reported that Iranian army conducted a military operation in Shipiran region on 17 August in which village guards who have been armed by the Iranian state also took part. Four Kurdish guerrillas have been reported to have lost their lives in the operation.
DKB also stated that the operations are conducted despite the ceasefire declared by KCK. “So called Islamic Republic of Iran increased its brutal attacks against the Kurdish guerrillas since the beginning of the holy Ramadan” added DKB.
DKB further warned the village guards not to take part in operations against guerrillas. It is also stated that village guards who played a role in the operation which claimed the life of 4 guerrillas are known to them and they will face a punishment for it.
Iranian army has also been constantly attacking South Kurdistan for more than a month where the Kurdish guerrillas based.
