At least 287 Kurdish opponents in Syrian black list

At least 287 Syrian opponents originating from the Kurdish Al-Hasakah province will be denied any documents from civil registry offices unless they surrender to the State Security Service, reported KurdWatch a Berlin bases Kurdish human rights organisation.

KurdWatch also reported that “From the correspondence from the ministry it is evident that the people listed will receive no personal documents, neither in person nor via family members or attorneys. This also means that they cannot apply for a passport via Syrian agencies abroad, and, if they wish to marry, they will not receive any papers from the appropriate civil register office.”

The circular, unlike the previous one issued by the Syrian Ministry of Interior not the Intelligence Service states the persons included in the list are those who have fled Syria and are hiding, were sought after “crimes against the state”.

It is reported that most of the names in the list are politically active Kurds living in exile; however some Arab and Christian opponents are also included.
