American journalist to be deported in the next week

Jake Hess was arrested in Diyarbakir last week

Detained American journalists lawyer said Jake Hess could be deported in a week to 10 days.

Sarkan Akbas told international news channel CNN that an application will have to be made to the Turkish Interior Ministry for the deportation of Jake Hess.

Jake Hess was based in Diyarbakir and his reports were mostly being published by an international news agency called IPS.

He was detained by Turkish police last week.

A Turkish court ordered deportation for Hess on Sunday.

Hess is still kept in a detention center in Diyarbakir.
