Boycott banners in Kurdish were banned

Banners are forbidden because written in Kurdish

Turkish Higher Election Council has banned BDP’s boycott banner in Kurdish on account of the ban on using a language other than Turkish which is illegal under the Laws on political parties and elections. The ban decision was also signed by members of the council who have been assigned by the ruling party AKP and opposition parties CHP and MHP.

While the AKP government praising itself for ‘liberating’ Kurdish language and the Kurdish broadcasting state channel TRT6, the ban on Kurdish language continues. Higher Election Council banned BDP’s banners in Kurdish for upcoming constitution referendum in Diyarbakir were banned merely because of being in Kurdish. The council order the banners to be confiscated.
