Pasdars arrest five Kurdish youths in Meriwan

Five Kurdish youths have been arrested by the Pasdars (Iranian Revolutionary Guards) in East Kurdistan city Meriwan

Five Kurdish youths have been arrested by the Pasdars (Iranian Revolutionary Guards) in East Kurdistan city Meriwan, reported locals.



It is reported that while the Kurdish youth Bahman Fatahzadeh, Bryar Kawa, Burhan Derakşhani, Burhan Qosrawi, Ehtiyar Kawa are kept at intelligence service building in Meriwan the reason for arrest remains unknown.



Last month three Kurdish university students Tewfiq Pertewi, Dana Lencabadi and Aram Weysi were given 1 year imprisonment by Meriwan Revolutionary Court and they were also expelled from Peyam Nur University for five years. They were charged with crimes against the state after the students attended the protests against the execution of four Kurdish opponents on 9 May. It is also reported that they were also tortured for 10 days by intelligence service.



On June 7 Tehran Revolutionary Court Nr. 26 sentenced a Kurdish university student Cehangir Ebdullahi to 5 year-imprisonment. Ebdullahi was arrested on 5 January by plain-cloth police from the university. He was tortured in prison where he was interrogated. He was eventually bailed out on 10 million tumens.
