Human Rights Association says closing papers does not help freedom of expression
The Diyarbakır Branch of the Human Rights Association (IHD) has given its solidarity to Azadiya Welat, the Kurdish newspaper which has been ordered to close down for a month by the Court last 21 August. Representative of Diyarbakır IHD have met journalists from Azadiya Welat to express their solidarity and support. IHD Raci Bilici underlined that closing the papers for what they write clearly is a violation of freedom of expression and does not help dialogue and freedom of thought.
