Dutch MP urges to join German MP's call for investigation
Regarding the use of chemicals against the Kurdish guerrillas by the Turkish Army president of Kurdistan People’s Congress (KONGRA-GEL) Remzi Kartal said it is a human duty and responsibility to take this issue before Organisation for the Prohibition Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
The issue was covered by the German media last week who published some pictures of deceased guerrilla bodies which were burned with chemicals.
President of KONGRA-GEL reminded the calls from the German MP’s for an investigation and said the brutality of the Turkish army constitutes crime against humanity and to react against this crime is a requirement of the customary international law as well as Geneva Conventions.
Kartal further stated that Kurdish people have always been the victim of inter-states interest however it is the time to change this fate.
Kartal also added that they are ready to provide any assistance while taking the issue before OPWC.
Meanwhile, Harry Van Bommel a Dutch MP from the Socialist party supported the calls for an investigation made by the German MP’s and urged the Dutch Foreign Minister to actively take part in this investigation.
