Bodies of guerrillas allegedly taken to Van hospital

Locals say two Kurdish guerrillas were killed by Turkish soldiers in Ercis, a town of Van province.

The clash started near Sharbazar village as a Turkish army unit ambushed two Kurdish guerrillas.

Both guerrillas were killed at the scene and their bodies were brought to a hospital in Van

A villager says he saw the bullet riddled bodies.

A delegation from the local section of Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) visited Ercis hospital but couldn't get any information.

Turkish army and the PKK did not make any statement about the incident.

PKK declared a unilateral ceasefire last week that will last until September 20. If confirmed, the clash in Van will be the first fatal clash between Turkish army and the PKK since the declaration.
