BDP asks government to act
The Kurds are decisive to boycott a constitution which does not include Kurdish demands for recognition, said BDP co-chair Gülten Kışanak.
Speaking in the constitution boycott meeting in Kurtalan district of Siirt Kışanak said Ankara is quiet in the face of the unilateral ceasefire declared by the PKK and the government is still talking about a terror problem. “The problem cannot be solved unless the Ankara government stop calling the Kurdish national movement as terrorist” added Gülten Kışanak.
She further said that Kurds want their democratic autonomy, their right to mother tongue education and identity.
Speaking in the same meeting MP of BDP from Siirt Osman Özçelik said the PM Erdoğan is trying to deceive the Kurds with the constitution which does not include democratic demands of the Kurdish people. He also said Kurds are requiring constitutional guarantees for their rights however AKP’s amendments do not change the spirit of the 12 September constitution which was prepared by the Junta.
