Iranian authorities arrest five Kurds in Mariwan:

Wednesday, 18 August 2010

MARIWAN, Eastern Kurdistan--According to the latest news from Eastern Kurdistan, the Iranian intelligent services and revolutionary guards arrested five Kurdish youth in Mariwan city. According to the same sources the five Kurdish youth have been arrested on unknown charges.
The identities of the arrested youth are as follow (Mr. Bahman Fatahzadeh, Bryar Kawa, Burhan Derakhshani, Burhan Khosrawi and Ekhtiyar Kawa).
However, despite the multiple arrest, which takes place in Eastern Kurdistan on daily basis, International medias, particularly Western medias have limited information or no information completely with regard to the regimes oppressive and discriminatory policies towards the Kurds in that part of Kurdistan.
Ever since the Islamic fundamentalists imposed their rules on Iranian nations, particularly Kurds following revolution in 1979, systematically the clerics within the regime banned all western Medias, journalists, Human Rights observers, and researchers from having an access to the Eastern Kurdistan. Although Kurdish people since last few years managed to establish Human Rights organization and several different NGOs in Eastern Kurdistan, regimes authorities intensively restricting them by detaining the observers and sentencing them to death.
It is worth to highlight that even the little or insufficient information, which is being published or reflected by the International Medias based on the information they received either from regimes state media, or from the people who have similar perspective with the regime toward the Kurdish question.
