Sulaymani – Change list candidate Sardar Qader was attacked on Friday evening in Sulaymani by unknown armed men in Iraqi Kurdistan. He was wounded in his leg.

Sardar Qader told Rudaw that it’s possible that his support for the Kurdish opposition list Change has to do with the attack. “But until the investigation is not finished yet, I don’t want to accuse anyone, since I don’t have problems with anyone.”

Sardar Qader was attacked when he wanted to visit his friends. He was hit in his legs two times and was taken to the hospital. The police started an investigation and will question Sardar Qader and the family he visited, police chief Naqib Aaladin told Rudaw. Sardar Qader, is the brother of Tahsin Qader, ex-minister of water management and a candidate of the Kurdish opposition for the upcoming Iraqi elections.
