The latest banning of the DTP by the Turkish Constitutional Court is another chapter in a long history of reppressions against democratic movements in Turkey. Banning a democratic party, issuing arbitrary judgements, and suppressing Kurdish identity moves Turkey away from, rather than closer to, the EU. We repeat: Dialogue and understanding, not confrontation and repression, is the only hope for an enduring and peaceful answer to the Kurdish question."
