Kurdish party attacked in Turkey

Izmir – The pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party (DTP) was attacked during a campaign in Izmir. 2000 supporters came to a meeting, when the convoy of the DTP with the DTP vice chairman Ahmet Türk was attacked reports ANF.

After the Turkish police stopped the convoy of Ahmet Turk, huge groups of people attacked the convoy. More than 20 people were hurt, among them four police agents. The cars of the convoy were heavily damaged, also women and children were targeted. A lot of slogans were shouted against Kurds and surrounding houses covered their balconies with Turkish flags.

The small number of police couldn’t control the situation. Eventually a special police united was called, the DTP members were escorted to the place of the meeting (Photo: aktuelbakis.com)
