London (KurdishMedia.com) 06 October 2009: A Kurdish periodical Livin has steered up the issue of the budget of the Kurdistan president Massoud Barzani, reported Kurdish online Awene on Monday.
The issue of the president’s budge has made the president very angry and his office stated that “the president has not received a single penny so far”, which means that the president does not function like the rest of Iraq’s civil servants.
The office of president stated that they take a legal action against Livin periodical for publishing the news and steering the issue of the Massoud Barzani’s budget and salary. “Livin must accept the responsibility,” the presidential statement said in a hostile tone.
Livin however stated in its statement that the president’s language is hostile and far form any lawful language. “It is the language of conflict and contains threats on our lives and our safety. We inform the local and international organisations of this threat.”
Livin stated that knowing the president’s salary is the right of every Kurdistan citizen and in most countries around the world, including the dictatorship and totalitarian sates, the salary of the head of the states are known, in addition they are regulated by law. Alas the president of Kurdistan Region, Livin stated, has violated the law that is legislated by his own presidential council and himself.
