| The Democratic Left Party (DSP) has pledged to lend support to the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government for a planned constitutional change to save pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party (DTP) members from being hauled off by police to a court session in late December to testify for allegedly making separatist statements in the past.
The Ankara 11th High Criminal Court ruled on two decisions last week to authorize the use of the police to bring DTP parliamentary group deputy leader Selahattin Demirtaş, the party's deputy chairwoman, Emine Ayna and DTP İstanbul deputy Sebahat Tuncel to a judicial hearing slated for Dec. 29.
