Ankara – As a result of a change in the visitor rules for prison, it’s now accepted that prisoners can speak in Kurdish with their own family, declared the Turkish Ministry of Justice on Saturday.

Before Kurdish could only be spoken, if it was sure if the prisoner couldn’t speak Turkish. But now it’s enough that one of the family members say they cannot speak Turkish. The prison authorities then should allow the conversations to be held n a different language.

Also the law was changed that prisoners who spoke in their native language and trespassed the laws, were punished with forbidding to speak in other languages then Turkish.
