The Kurds in Syria have been subjected to discriminatory and racist polices implemented in Kurdish regions for decades. The racist Exceptional Census implemented on 5/10/1962 deprived more than half- a-million Kurds of their basic human right of surviving in their own country by stripping them of the Syrian nationality, deporting them from their homes and forcing them to face the death as a "buried alive people". The latest Decree 49 implemented on 10/09/2008, which is a Decree of denying the right of ownership, trade and demographic change for the Kurdish national identity in the area and a continuation of the systematic denial policies aimed at ending the Kurdish national identity.
