Baghdad – Sabah Saaidi, chairman of the Committee against Fraud, says until now 30.000 Baathists have returned to posts in the government.
In the past, the return had to do with the lack of qualified personell, but not everybody appreciates the return. It also results into problems in the Iraqi army. Last week 25 Kurdish soldiers resigned, after problems with Baathists in the army.
Spokesman Saaidi says the return of Baathists results in the danger of new military coups. Saaidi says this should be prevented at all costs. The return of Baathist officials results in fears, that the age of Saddam Hussein will return to Iraq (Photo: Rudaw).
