Senior BDP-head arrested in Turkey

Mehmet Ali Aydın, the head of the BDP’s Diyarbakır branch, has been arrested on charges of conducting propaganda for the PKK reports Zaman.

Aydın traveled to the prosecutor’s office in response to a subpoena over statements he made in Diyarbakır on Jan. 15. After the provincial head of the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) provided his testimony, he was taken to the on-duty court. Aydın was arrested on charges of conducting propaganda for the PKK, membership in PKK organization and committing a crime on behalf of said organization.

Aydin’s secretary said this shows how Turkey works, in a statement.
