Iraqi Kurdistan should be able to pump as much as 1 million barrels per day (bpd) of oil within three years, Natural Resources Minister Ashti Hawrami said on Tuesday.

"We can start with 100,000 to 150,000 barrels (per day) right away and we can go to 1 million barrels within three years," Hawrami told Reuters Insider television in an interview.

Hawrami, responsible for energy in the semi-autonomous enclave ruled by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), was speaking on the sidelines of a conference on the Middle East and North Africa at the Chatham House think tank in London.
