NORTHERN KURDISTAN, -- While Turkish army is committing war crimes by targeting civilians and destroying the dead bodies of Kurdish guerrillas it is also destroying the history and the nature of Kurdistan. After the plans to submerge the historical site of Hasankefy under the waters of Ilisu dam, the Turkish government is also ruining the Kurdish nature. It is reported that Turkish army set fire on 20 forests in the last 21 days.
While the officials are not taking any precautions against the forest fires in Kurdistan caused by military operation, they are also preventing the locals who are trying to extinguish the fire with their own limited capacities.
The fires are not only within the Turkish borders but also in Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq). Mortar shell attacks and bombardments of the Turkish army are causing forest fires in Kurdistan region in Iraq.
