Rudaw - Mohammed Tofiq says it’s difficult for the Kurdish opposition leader Nawshirwan Mustafa to come to Hawler, the capital of the Kurdistan region, during the Iraqi election campaign. “We have to look at that issue very carefully, incidents would disrupt the elections. So we have to be careful,” Tofiq told Rudaw. Asked why Nawshirwan Mustafa is afraid to visit Erbil and not Kirkuk, Tofiq said the KDP could create incidents. “In Erbil they could create problems and disrupt the elections. So we have to be careful and not give excuses to them.” Tofiq also said the Kurdistan Democratic Party could start imitating people and block them. “The KDP does everything.” Gorran official Safeen Malaqara from Erbil said that the opposition leader is not coming to Erbil, because he is needed in Suleymaniyah. “We have enough Gorran people in Erbil.”
