Paris - On 11 March Ronay Zana, son of the prominent Kurdish politician Leyla Zana and Devrim and Heval Arslan were arrested in France.
While in Belgium no employees of Roj TV, Radio Denge Mezopotamya were arrested, there are now 9 employees of Roj TV or production company Zend in prison in France.
Yesterday a group of Dutch-Kurdish journalists condemned the police raid against Roj TV, last week in the Belgian town of Denderleeuw. Also several Kurdish media organizations from Iraq condemned the police operation, describing it as a threat to the freedom of expression.
In Belgium, France and Italy there were police operations against Kurdish organizations. According to a Belgian federal prosecutor the police operations are carried out by the EU security organization EUROJUST.
