Rudaw - The military wing of the PKK, the HPG (People's Defence Forces), says there were bomb attacks of the Turkish army at the border region.
"On 9th of March, 2010, in between the hours 00:30-02:00am, Turkish state army bombarded the area of Xantur/Xaftanin/Medya Defence Areas with obus and mortars," said the Press Liasion Centre of the PKK.
The PKK also suggests that between 7-8 March, the Turkish state bombarded the Kurdish villages of Sipe, Merganis, Serne, Zere, Erbis, Ere and Pase, as well as area of the Hill of Cehennem/Zap/Medya Defence Areas with obus and mortars.
The Turkish army often bombs the border regions to combat the Kurdistan Workers Party. Kurdish human rights organizations say civilians are often victim of the attacks.
