PJAK’s call on Germany

After the arrest of Mr. Haci Ahmadi by the German police, the coordination of the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) released a statement for the public opinion.

In the PJAK’s statement it has been declared that; in the 5th March the Intelligence Agents of the German Federal State had arrested our party’s leader. The reason for the arrest yet not being declared but according to the latest news they acted upon the request made by the Belgian High Court.

After the arrest the coordination of the PJAK released a statement for the public in which they have claimed that Mr. Haci Ahmedi is a high profile Kurdish and Iranian politician with decent background who has worked tirelessly for the peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue. From his early ages until now he has worked tirelessly in various organisations in order to bring about democracy and freedom for his people. He has played pioneering role within the organisations he has worked with. Haci Ahmedi has been living in Germany for the last 45 years and he had received his degree in the German university. He is a German citizen and his work has always been completely democratic and compatible with the German and Euroepan laws. He has worked democratically based on his democratic beliefs compatible with the universal legal principles.

Despite the threat of assassination attempts that had been previously carried out by the Iranian agents in Germany against the Kurdish resistance leaders, Haci Ahmedi took the risk of working in abroad since he was of strong opinion that he would be safe in Germany and without having a doubt he continued his diplomatic and political works.

In the analysis of Haci Ahmedi’s background, the PJAK coordination states that; Mr. Haci Ahmedi took the leadership of our party in 2004 and he has worked based on the democratic principles; up to the present there is no evidence against neither our party nor against Mr. Haci Ahmedi. Despite working democratically based on democratic principles, now we see that our party’s leader is arrested in a way not compatible with the democracy or the European standards. We regard this act not only against a singular person or a party but this is a conspiracy against free will of our nation.

The coordination of PJAK continues by; our arty will follow this issue tentatively; we see this as a pattern for the treatment of our nation. Every single judicial institution should regard and contemplate the reputation and popular support for our leader and in their analysis they should pay attention to mass movement behind Mr. Haci Ahmedi. Based on these facts we require the German and the European authorities to release our leader immediately and provide him with all his legal and political entitlements. Had the thing gone otherwise, we would be obliged to reassess our position.

At the end of the statement the coordination of PJAK appeal to the Kurds and states; we urge our people to understand the inappropriate treatment of our leader. In order to preserve our honour and reputations the Kurdish people should demonstrate their protestation against this illegal and unjust treatment of their leader.

To conclude with we reiterate that we regard the arrest of our leader as the arrest ourselves and as a nation we demand that we don’t accept the subordinate lives.
