Rudaw - In a declaration the Kurdistan Alliance of the PUK and KDP said they could possible boycott the elections. Thousands of Kurds couldn't vote.
"Only in Duhok 20.000 voters couldn't vote. In Hawler, Slemani and Kerkuk 43.000 people couldn't vote. We suspect political motives; therefore we will boycott the elections, if the Iraqi electoral commission doesn't take precautions, according to the declaration.
The Kurdish PM Barham Salih said there was no electoral fraud in Kurdish regions. "But the Kurdistan Alliance is unsatisfied of how the electoral commission carried out its work. Till now we will not accept the results."
Nawzad Hama Gareeb, a local IHEC coordinator in on polling station in Suleymaniyah told Rudaw that in his station 500 people couldn't vote. " This is against Kurdish rights." A Kurdish policeman Amanj Mohammed (23) told a Rudaw journalist that he couldn’t vote, because they said his name was not on the list. He said IHEC told him that they would call him later. The IHEC office in Baghdad didn’t answer any questions of Rudaw yet.
Dr. Mohammed Ameen of the Change list (Gorran) said its also possible that some security forces tried to vote twice and claimed their name was unregistered.
