Kurdish party office attacked in Turkey

Ankara - The building of central office of the Kurdish Peace and Democracy (BDP) in Ankara was attacked by two unidentified gunmen on Friday night.

The patrolling policemen return fire after making the intruders flee. After the accident extra police troops arrived at the site, covering the surrounding neighborhood.

Recently the Turkish prosecutor’s office launched investigation in connection with founding congress of pro-Kurdish party held in Ankara for pro-PKK statements of the BDP-leaders. The BDP’s predecessor, the Democratic Society Party (DTP) was banned for alleged links with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) (Photo: Rudaw)
