London (KurdishMedia.com) 11 January 2009: at 4:30 am a Gorran activist was shot at in the town of Penjiwen, Sulemani governorate close to the Iranian border, according to the Kurdish website Sbeiy.com on Tuesday.
Osman Haji Mahmud was in his home when a group of unidentified men fired at the window of his home; no one was hurt in the incident, reported Sbeiy.com.
Mahmud told Sbeiy.com that he has no problem with anyone; the only thing is that he is an advocate of Gorran.
The security in the areas that Gorran won in the last Kurdistan election, July 2009, the security situation degraded and a number of activists and outspoken journalists were assaulted, of which one person has been killed.
The PUK and KDP list, known as Kurdistani, lost 25 seats to the Gorran Movement in the last Kurdistan election.
